Walking & Climbing

The Ullapool area in Wester Ross is a hiker's paridise with some of the Highlands' most challenging peaks such as Suilven, An Teallach, Stac Pollaidh and Ben Dearg. On clear days they offer spectacular views across the Summer Isles and surrounding mountains. The North Highlands also offer many coastal and cliff-top paths waiting to be explored. All these lie within easy driving distance.

East Rhidorroch is an excellent base for walking and photography holidays and is a haven for birds and other wildlife. One of the region’s most remote Munros, Seana Braigh is accessible by foot directy from your accomadation. For more gentle walks there are various paths along the glen to the many waterfalls, woodland or to the bothy on the Estate. There is a wealth of different walks in the area perfect for enthusiasts, families, or dog owners depending on your ability and desire.

We have many miles of tracks, roads and trails ready to explore on your mountain bike. The track leading through East Rhidorroch from Ullapool leads all the way to the East Coast affording some magnificent views and breathtaking experiences.

Ullapool attracts climbers from all over the world and the Lodge (with accommodation for 11 people) is a great meeting place for climbing clubs. This area boasts a wealth of famous rock climbs, stacks and vertiginous sea cliffs. There is also a climbing wall at the Lochbroom Leisure Centre.
