Throwing clay on the pottery wheel

Learn the skills to throw bowls/dishes/vases/plates etc on the pottery wheel. Using our electric pottery wheels, participants will be taught the techniques to throw the perfect pot with tutor support and guidance as well as how to finish your pot by trimming and turning the base.

Throwing Mud childrens classes

A fun and interactive pottery class suitable for children aged 5-14yrs old. Freeplay and experimentation with clay is encouraged as well as learning the handbuilding techniques to make works of art with tutor guidance and support. Children will also get the chance to use the pottery wheel. They will then decorate their pieces which will then be fired and glazed. Parents and carers are welcome to join in with the fun too and make with clay at no extra cost.

Friday Night out in the studio

Making and socialising with others who enjoy pottery, It's a casual evening that takes place the last friday of the month. Each week you will be guided in various pottery techniques to create and decorate your own unique ceramic pieces that can be functional, decorative, or both! You decide. The get together will last 2.5 hours, with a 30 minute tutorial at the start of the evening showing a pottery technique then everyone can work on their own ideas and chat. The class is open to all levels from absolute beginner to advance. You can work and learn at your own pace while learning new ideas from others, the aim is to share ideas and de-stress after a long week of work. The price covers all materials, firings, and tuition. .

Over 60's Pottery Class

Learn the skills and techniques to make with clay The class is open to over 60’s who are looking for a new hobby and to meet likeminded people. Each week you will learn the techniques and skills to create both functional and sculptural work. Participants are encouraged to work on their own ideas and have full access to the kilns, tools and materials.

Free-Range Craft

Specially tailored for home-educated children, each month we will explore a different theme. Classes are suitable for children with Autism/Asperger’s Learn both Hand building skills and throwing on the wheel with tutor support and guidance. Free play is also encouraged to enable kids to express ideas and emotions.

Adult's social pottery group
