Claims Against Stirling Mortimer

One overseas property scheme was that of Stirling Mortimer. Much of the UK investment money came from hard-earned pensions and that money was put towards three funds:

  • The No.4 Cape Verde Fund
  • The No.6 Morocco Fund, and
  • The No.7 Cape Verde Fund, II

The Stirling Mortimer fund was like many overseas funds. It was unregulated or UCIS. It did not have the FCA’s protection. Any investor in it would not have access to services from the Financial Ombudsman or the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. Many investors say that they were not told about this by their IFA. They were told to invest even though they were unsuitable.
