Digital Camera Photos — Waverley 3 — 2015 - 2019

This is part of an overview of all the digital photos I've taken since getting a digital camera in 2005.
The originals are on this disc (G) and on the backup discs.

Waverley at Red Bay — Sunday, 21 June 2015

In order to catch a 07:00 sailing on a Sunday, it was desireable to catch the first No2 at 05:28 from Chester Street to Finnieston (05:38) and walk from there to Pacific Quay (20 minutes). A later departure would have left not a lot of time for unforeseen circumstances.

Waverley left Glasgow on time (£43 concession), called at Largs (09:30), Campbeltown (12:27 - 12:33) and arrived at Red Bay seven minutes late at 15:00, much to the surprise of some cynics who thought the captain would abort the trip due to sea conditions. [It was slightly interesting on the way across but smoother on the return.] I disembarked and headed into Waterfoot with some friends for a small refreshment. [10 minutes each way.] We sailed again at 16:40 (10 minutes late), called at Campbeltown (19:17 - 19:27) and arrived at Largs 14 minutes late at 22:14 for a coach return to Glasgow (22:24 - 23:13) where I retraced my steps to Finnieston in 15 minutes and caught a No2 at 23:41 arriving at Chester Street at quarter past midnight.

We leapfrogged a No61 as we passed through the town, too tight for me to risk changing buses but a later time trial proved that it was possible to head directly in to the city centre to catch the No61 at Argyle Street.

Waverley at Tarbert — Wednesday, 8 July 2015

A No240 from Tollcross at 07:19 to reach the bus station at 07:47 for the 08:05 Stagecoach X77 to Ayr, arriving at 09:06. Waverley sailed on time at 10:00 and arrived at Tarbert on time at 14:45, where I partook of a small refreshment with friends in the Corner House. Waverley left on time (again) at 16:20 and reached Largs 10 minutes early at 19:35 for a coach return to Ayr. But I got on the wrong coach and arrived in George Square at 20:33. A short wait in Ingram Street for a No240 and was in Tollcross at 21:09.

Waverley at Red Bay — Sunday, 3 July 2016

As last year, it was an early start on the 05:28 No2 from Chester Street, this time alighting at Glasgow Cross at 05:41 for a gentle stroll along to Pacific Quay, arriving at 06:45.

Waverley set off (41 concession) 6 minutes late at 07:06, called at Largs (09:47 - 09:55 - 25 minutes late) and Campbeltown (12:45 - 13:00 - half an hour late) and arrived at Red Bay at 15:30 - still half an hour late, where I ambled into Waterfoot with friends for a small refreshment in the Safron. We sailed again at 16:52, called at Campbeltown (19:17 - 19:27 - 27 minutes late) and reached Largs at 22:14 - 14 minutes late, for a coach return to Glasgow where we arrived at George Square (via Pacific Quay) at 23:28, luckily still in time to catch a No240 from Ingram Street to reach Tollcross at 23:56.

I took these photos as Waverley returned to Red Bay from its Antrim Coast Cruise.
