John’s Negatives

Films 1 & 2 — 2 x 120 12 exposure roll films, shot with the Kodak Cresta 3.

Photographs from Dalkeith, the Hills and PS Waverley

When Mike and Mary Shand moved north to Elgin, I was there when they were clearing their flat in Mayfield. Mike came across a couple of out-of-date (by several years) colour 120 roll films in a drawer. Since he no longer had a camera of the appropriate size, they were destined for the bucket until I rescued them and dug out my trusty Kodak Cresta 3, purchased for 47/6d (including carry case, flashgun, batteries and a packet of flash bulbs) in Pittenweem in the summer of 1961.
(I still have the camera and accoutrements.)

HMY Britannia was due at Greenock from Friday July 28 prior to The Queen's arrival on Monday August 7.
She (Britannia, not the Queen) was unable to berth because of industrial action by civilian workers at the RN bases
(who were to have provided the tugs) so anchored off at the Tail of the Bank.
