This was my first Waverley trip to the Western Isles and I travelled on my own. (Wasn't I a big boy!)


Friday 4th – From Glasgow to Oban with a stop at Port Ellen, Islay.

Down the River

3704 3705 The Renfew ferries "Renfrew Rose" and "Yoker Swan" had only recently been introduced to replace the old chain ferries. They were intended for foot passengers only, but were capable of carrying an ambulance in an emergency.
