September in Paris, 1981

The object of this trip was to attend the wedding of Robert & Martine on the Saturday. I think seven from the office travelled, John & Jacquie, Phil & Eleanor, Dave, Richard and myself. John found a reasonable package deal which included travel from Edinburgh, accommodation, a cruise on the Seine and some Metro tickets.

Day 1 - Thursday, September 3 — We took the sleeper on Wednesday night from Edinburgh to London then a train to somewhere on the coast to catch the hovercraft to Boulogne whence another train to Paris. Our hotel was not far from the Gare du Nord.

Day 3 - Saturday, September 5 — The object of the trip. The wedding was, I think in Ermont, a northern suburb of Paris which we reached by train, and I think returned by taxis. For some reason, I took photos there with a different camera (Minolta Weathermatic), on 110 film.

Days 4 & 5 - Sunday, September 6 & Monday 7th — Most of the wedding guests went home on Sunday but Dave, Richard and I stayed on for a few days to see the sights. I'm not sure on which days these photos were taken; judging by the sky, the Porte St Denis is either the last on Sunday or the first on Monday, probably the latter.
