Patrick Smyth was born in Ireland about 1859 to Anne McMann & William Smyth.

1881 On Monday, September 5, Catherine and Patrick were married by Fr. Thomas Moran in the RC Chapel, Cleland, after Banns according to the forms of the Roman Catholic Church. The marriage was registered No.11 at Cleland (West District of Shotts) on September 7.
Patrick was a Bachelor, gave his age as 22, occupation Coalminer and usual residence as Omoa Square. His parents are recorded as William Smyth, Pithead Labourer and Anne Smyth, m.s. McMann.
Catherine was a Spinster, gave her age as 22, occupation Brickworker and residence Omoa Square. Her parents are recorded as Patrick Reynolds, Coalminer and Ellen Reynolds m.s. Connelly.
The witnesses were John Reynolds and Rose Ann Strain.

Sadly, he died on May 15, 1892 aged 5 years.
