John Rogan was born in Ireland about 1861 to Mary Docherty (c1838 - 1873) and William Rogin (c1840 - 1896). [See Section RG-6-1 for family background.]Agnes Lavery was probably born in Shettleston about 1862.
I think this is she in the 1881 Census at Lightburn Rd, Shettleston in a house with 2 windowed rooms.

1886 On Tuesday, February 2, John and Agnes were married by Fr. John Murphy at St. Paul's RC Church, Shettleston after Publication according to the Forms of the Roman Catholic Church. The marriage was registered No.8 at Shettleston on February 6.
John was a Bachelor, he gave his age as 23, occupation Steel Work Shearer and residence as Clyde Iron Works, Old Monkland West. His parents are recorded as William Rogan, Blast Furnaceman and Mary Rogan, m.s. Docherty (deceased).
Agnes was a Spinster, gave her age as 21, occupation Power Loom Weaver and usual residence as Lightburn, Shettleston. Her parents are recorded as Peter Lavery, Coal Miner and Mary Lavery, m.s. McGinnis.
The witnesses were Adam Galloway [a neighbour of the Rogans at Clyde Iron Works in 1881] and Maggie Lavrie [probably Agnes's sister].
The event is also recorded in the Register of Marriages at St Paul's
"John Rogan & Agnes Lavery were married by me after due proclamation of banns on the 3rd day of February 1886 in presence of Adam Gallaway and Maggie Laverie. John Murphy."I wonder which date is correct.

1891 April 3 Despite the discrepancy in the ages, I'm pretty sure that this is our John and Agnes in Lightburn in a house with one windowed room.

In the entry for Maggie Lavery, "step-sister" is an old term for sister-in-law.
