To The Blackheath Pottery
Hi, I’m Babs from The Blackheath Pottery. I create handmade porcelain tableware, traditional items such as mugs, bowls and plates but glazed in fresh contemporary colours. Handcrafted ceramics have a uniqueness, no two pieces are identical, often impressions from my own hands are evident in the soft body of the clay. After traveling and gaining experience from other potter's I have returned to the wild north coast of Northern Ireland and started The Blackheath Pottery!

A personally made for you dinner service.
These plates are used every day in our household for dinner and lunches. They are made with the perfect curve to the rim so sauces and gravies don’t escape.
Completed with an unglazed foot exposing the white porcelain and stamped with our maker’s mark
As each piece is individually made so there will be slight changes in each piece and slight colour variations, which is indicative of the material and the hand made processes.

Here at The Blackheath Pottery, we teach many aspects of ceramic skills. Choose from our range of classes & courses below, currently, we are offering two types of class & courses:
A 6-week course, on a Tuesday evening that teaches basic skills from hand-building, throwing on the wheel through to decorating and glazing. At the end of the course, you will have items to take home with you.
Individual pottery classes, available on Thursday and Saturday evenings, one-off sessions are for 1 to 4 people and can be tailored to the group. We can teach basic skills for beginners and cater to more experienced potters. Once booked, we will be in touch to create the perfect experience for you
Please note Babs is on maternity leave from the 23rd of September until Spring 2022.
