Welcome back! We hope you had a lovely Easter, and for those working in shops, cafes & restaurants, we hope you were nice and busy too.
With April comes a new financial year and new opportunities for change. Although the high street has taken a bit of kicking the last few months, there’s still an important role for shops to play; especially small and independent businesses.
According to the big boss at John Lewis, “shops have to offer experiences and services to stand out amid low consumer confidence and competition from online-only retailers.” Experience comes first, and
retailers must begin to understand the new generation of buyers, and their shopping habits to ensure their place on the high street remains.
It can be a lot to get your head around, but for those interested in some of the ways retailing is changing, our 2018 Retail Trends report highlights 10 trends shaping the year ahead. We hope they help you understand the changing markets and give you a glimpse into the mindset of today’s consumer.
As always, our desire is to champion the high street and offer fresh ways to display and sell your products successfully. Keep an eye out for the 90+ new products
we’ll be launching over the coming months to help you do that.
