TEST Bags for Life | Your June Monthly eNewsbagger

Hello Maria!

As WBC’s Retail trends blog suggests; traceability is King this year. So, we sent Jo and Laura back to London College of Fashion to learn more about sustainable fabrics, including organic and fair trade canvas.

We love sustainable materials and by working with artisan producers in rural villages across India we have developed some brilliant new materials for producing beautifully unique and eye-catching baskets and bags. Bags made from 100% recycled bottles, natural river grass or even recycled bicycle inner tubes are all now available with minimum quantities of just 500 bags.

If you are looking for upcycled, recycled 100% plastic free bags then contact us today on 08000 85 85 95, or email bags@wbc.co.uk

Bag of the month: Seasalt Basket Bags

Bags made from natural hand-woven materials are all the rage this year. As ever, Seasalt were ahead of the curve when briefing us to develop their coast path basket. Made from natural straw it has been a great addition to their Spring Summer 18 collection. Producing a great bag is only half the story though, when working with ethically savvy brands like Seasalt we have to be 100% transparent throughout the whole supply chain. That’s why we send our own staff to regularly perform ethical and quality audits and we take our corporate and social responsibilities seriously.

Retaining Your Trust

Far more than price, today’s consumers buy products when they understand why they should buy them. Bags for life come with a fantastic story that’s easy to sell. It’s about the makers, the origin, the method and artistry. The only way to truly communicate that, is by understanding traceability, provenance, transparency and ethics. When it comes to Bags for Life and retaining your trust, it’s important to us that you’re able to understand how we stay accountable and report on compliance and ethics. That way you can tell the story with confidence.

Meet The Team

Making sure all our products are produced responsibly is important to us and so we follow strict procedures and document them all on our SEDEX platform. Meet Simon Preston. It’s Simon’s job to make sure we stay transparent throughout our supply chain and conduct our bags for life business ethically and responsibly in compliance with national and international regulations. It’s a detailed job, but coming from a fashion and textile background, it’s one that Simon’s perfect at.
