Topiqon Privacy Policy
Effective date: 23 September 2026
Topiqon is designed to run on your device. The developer does not operate a service that receives your Topiqon server content and does not use the app to track you.
1. Scope
This policy explains how Topiqon handles information in the Topiqon app. It covers the app itself, not the independent services you choose to connect to it or the privacy practices of a person or organisation operating a Topiqon server.
2. Information Topiqon processes
Depending on how you use the app, Topiqon may process:
- Server content: topics, messages, user records, permissions, and related server data submitted by you or by clients connecting to your server.
- Configuration: server settings, endpoints, backup preferences, and locally generated or entered API and administration credentials.
- Operational information: local status, usage totals, and other information needed to operate and display the server's activity.
- Purchase information: Apple processes transactions when you purchase the Full Version. Topiqon receives only the transaction status and entitlement information needed to unlock the purchase.
We do not use Topiqon to collect advertising identifiers, precise location, contacts, browsing history, or analytics, and we do not create advertising profiles.
3. How information is used
Topiqon processes information only as needed to:
- run the local Topiqon server and its API;
- display and manage topics, messages, users, and permissions;
- save your settings and authenticate authorised clients;
- create or restore backups when you enable a backup provider; and
- verify and restore an App Store purchase.
4. Storage and connected services
- On your device: server content and configuration are stored locally by default. Sensitive credentials used for configured backup services are stored using the operating system's Keychain where applicable.
- iCloud: if you enable iCloud backup, backup data is transferred to the iCloud account associated with your device. Apple's terms and privacy policy apply to that processing.
- Amazon S3 or compatible storage: if you configure an S3 backup, Topiqon transfers backup data to the endpoint and account you provide. The selected provider's terms and privacy practices apply.
- App Store: purchases are processed by Apple under Apple's terms and privacy policy.
The developer does not receive the content you store locally or send to a backup provider unless you separately choose to send it to the developer, for example when requesting support.
5. Network access and other users
Topiqon can accept connections over local or other networks using protocols supported by the app. Information submitted by connected clients is delivered to the device running your Topiqon server. You control whether the server is available, who receives credentials, and which networks can reach it. Avoid exposing the server or its credentials to people you do not trust.
6. Sharing and sale of information
We do not sell personal information. We do not share Topiqon content with advertisers or data brokers. Information leaves your device only through features you use, such as serving connected clients, creating a backup with your selected provider, completing an Apple purchase, or contacting support.
7. Retention and deletion
Local information remains on your device until you remove it through Topiqon, reset the app's data, or delete the app and its data. Backup copies remain according to the settings and retention rules of your chosen backup provider. You can disable backups in the app and delete cloud backups through the relevant provider. Apple retains purchase records according to its own legal and business requirements.
8. Security
Topiqon uses platform security features and access credentials intended to protect its data. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Keep the app and operating system up to date, protect your device account, use strong unique credentials, and limit server access to trusted networks and clients.
9. Children's privacy
Topiqon is a general-purpose developer and server utility and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a developer-operated service. Server operators are responsible for ensuring that their use of Topiqon is appropriate and lawful for their users.
10. International data transfers
If you choose a cloud backup provider or make an App Store purchase, that provider may process information in countries other than your own. Review the provider's privacy policy and select a storage region appropriate for your needs where that option is available.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Topiqon's features or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of this page will identify the latest version. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate channel, such as an app update or this page.
