Most of the competition in the area were parts of large chains such as sketchleys, which was not the standard of what was required. We of course also alter and repair them and we are the only people in the area that still use firm machines to to repair for garments, which is highly unusual since the fur trade practically disappeared in this country. Our shoe business only developed about 10 years ago when people were demanding a more high quality shoe repair service. We noticed there was a definite gap in the market for high quality cleaning at sensible prices and a quick turnaround. Our repair work as well as alterations are done on the premises by very trained dressmakers. |
