Fun Fact

The first person to perform a cardiac catheterization was not allowed to perform the procedure on a patient, so he decided to perform it on himself and then walk all the way to the X-ray room with the catheter still in his arm to prove that the tube had reached his heart.

Fundraising 

Lamellar Biomedical, a biotechnology company developing a range of patent-protected medical and pharmaceutical products, based on LAMELLASOME™ technology, has raised £5.75 million in a Series C equity funding round. Click here to read more. 

Vivet Therapeutics, a developer of novel gene therapies for rare, inherited metabolic diseases, has raised 37.5 million euros in Series A financing.
