Dear Castle Tri fans,

Last weekend was absolutely stunning both on and off the track, and we thoroughly enjoyed basking in the amazing performances and glorious sunshine at Cholmondeley Castle. The heat presents a tough test for racing, but also boosts the festival atmosphere for spectators, and gives the competitors extra bragging rights. On that note, we’ve included lots of hints and tips for racing and training in the heat, below.

We now turn our attention towards the Festival of Endurance at Hever Castle on the 8th July; an atmospheric celebration of sporting excellence and personal (and team) challenge. It’s going to be an incredible day with some epic performances and moments of history which will be captured for a programme to be aired on Channel 4 next month. The event will see over 1,500 competitors, ranging from the hard core taking on The Bastion full iron distance, to Castle Run Half and Full Marathon participants. We will also play host to the British Middle Distance Championships for the Gauntlet competitors, long swims (including a Marathon 10k Swim), Aquabike and Aquathlon.

There is still time to join us for this legendary sporting festival, so don’t miss out!

In the meantime, hope you enjoy the training advice and guides below. Happy training!

All the best,

Brian Adcock

Next weekend we will welcome 39 competitors who have not only dedicated their time to training but also to fundraising for Macmillan Cancer. By 2020, almost one in two people will get cancer and it’s the toughest fight most of us will ever face.
